Keith's Closet is a not-for-profit charity that provides support to members of the community who are accessing the mental health service. Through our walk-in wardrobe facilities, we provide clothing, toiletries, sanitary items, accessories, and homewares on admission or discharge from a mental health facility so patients can embrace their reintegration and thrive in society.
Founder & Director
During my time as a student and qualified mental health nurse, I recognized that patients accessing our services often arrived at hospital with just the clothes on their backs and limited access to alternative clothing, toiletries, and accessories. I had a vision to change that, and as a result of extensive discussions with the executive team at Prince of Wales Hospital, Keith’s Closet opened on 24th January 2019.

Having grown up in India, I have seen poverty and inequality at its worst and witnessed firsthand the amazing work charities do in those communities. It has been an ambition of mine to be involved in a community-based organization where I can contribute in my small way.

"I only understood the true meaning of good mental health after living through COVID lockdowns by myself. I was lucky enough to have a good boss, colleagues, and friends that gave me the support I needed. So when I was asked to help, I could not say yes quickly enough! The sky is the limit for Keith’s Closet."

I have spent my career working in health services and have witnessed over and over the importance of the charitable and volunteer sectors. Keith’s Closet is a genuinely important service; helping individuals on their recovery journey and building community along the way. When Keith invited me onboard, I didn’t have to think twice… It’s an absolute honour to be part of the Keith’s Closet team!

My childhood was marked by mental illness, as my mum battled Bipolar disorder for most of it. I've witnessed firsthand how dehumanizing psychiatric wards can often be and understand the very important role organizations like Keith’s Closet play in helping patients re-enter society with dignity and empowerment. I’ve worked in fundraising and philanthropy for the last ten years, managing many areas of the fundraising mix from corporate partnerships, major donors, events, and individual givers. I’m delighted to support Keith’s Closet to reach their fundraising goals and help make a positive difference to those suffering from mental illness.

From my first interaction with Keith’s Closet on the back of their Christmas shoebox drive, I knew I had skills that I could bring to the organization that would add value. With 30+ years of experience working in premier technology companies across the Asia Pacific region, my understanding of strategy development, business operations, program & process optimization will go a long way to helping take Keith’s Closet vision and mission to the next level.
